The
Compañía Paulo Ribeiro is a Portuguese contemporary dance company founded in 1995, the result of the joint efforts and hard work of choreographer Paulo Ribeiro and several of Europe's top contemporary dance companies.
Over a period of almost 12 years, this company has positioned itself amongst Portugal’s leading contemporary dance companies, appearing regularly at major Portuguese, European and international venues (mainly in Brazil and the USA).
With a total of 18 productions, highly acclaimed by critics and the general public alike, and a total audience of around 70,000, this company has also received several leading national and international awards.
Since 1998 it has been the resident dance company at Viseu’s Teatro Viriato. Here it has built up a consolidated project that ventures beyond creative, production and touring activity, taking it into the world of education for the local community. Its numerous projects include regular dance and theatre workshops, as well as specific projects for school children, residences, informal presentations, etc., and to this end it has created a brand new space known as
Viseu - Lugar presente.
